Islamabad, February 11, 2018 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Police on Sunday arranged camp to provide guidance and legal advice on issues confronted by community members. According to police spokesman, various activities to promote community policing have been started which include free medical camps, visits to schools to create awareness and to hold community gatherings, maintain close liaison with notables of the area and area and curb activities of anti-social elements with their cooperation.
Under the community policing initiative, he said a free legal aid camp was arranged by SHO Industrial Area Khalid Mehmood Awan in PS Industrial Area. Justice® Abdul Waheed Siddiqui was the chief guest while a large numbers of citizens also participated in it. A very productive session for the participants was held. They sought help on matters like consumer rights, tenancy agreements and mechanisms available for resolution of other matters related to police administration, and disputes and police role and legal limits for intervention.
IGP Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri has appreciated these overall activities and said that Islamabad Police is determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and also fulfilling the social responsibilities by contributing in the various welfare works. “For the assistance in the community welfare programs, Islamabad police would never step back and lead at the front for such gestures beneficial for the humanity,” the IGP maintained. He said Islamabad Police is the role model for other law enforcement agencies and every personnel of this force would endeavour for community policing.
