Concern expressed over detainees’ plight in jails

Srinagar, March 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the chief patron of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R (JKLF-R), Barrister Abdul Majeed Trumbo has expressed concern over the plight of detainees languishing in different jails of India and the territory.

Barrister Abdul Majeed Trumbo in a statement in Srinagar, referring to illegally detained party Chairman, Farooq Ahmad Dar and those lodged in Tihar Jail, said that authorities were subjecting prisoners to ill treatment and those lodged in Tihar were subjected vengeance by the jail authorities.

Expressing concern over the deteriorating health of party Chairman, Farooq Ahmad Dar, he urged the human rights bodies to take immediate notice of the deplorable condition of the prisoners. Trumbo also urged these bodies to take effective steps so that the inhuman treatment meted out to these detainees is stopped.

He also denounced politicising and communalising the rape and murder of Kathua girl, Asifa and said that instead of bringing culprits to book, the puppet authorities are favouring a lenient view for those involved in gruesome murder of the minor girl.
