Srinagar, April 27, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid rich tributes to four youth recently martyred by Indian troops in Laam area of Tral. The Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said, the sacrifices offered for a great cause can never be forgotten and that it is the collective responsibility of the resistance leadership and the people of Kashmir to safeguard the mission of their martyrs.
It said, “Delaying the resolution of Kashmir dispute will cast a shadow on the peace. Peace will remain a challenge as long as Kashmir dispute continues to linger on,” the Hurriyat forum added. It said that it was high time for New Delhi to shun its stubborn approach and start a meaningful exercise for settlement of the lingering dispute.
The statement condemned in strong terms the use of force inside the campus of Islamic University of Science and Technology where students were holding a peaceful demonstration. It added that the puppet authorities have been deliberately deploying heavy contingent of Indian forces’ personnel around the educational institutions including universities to instill fear among the student community.
The Hurriyat forum also paid glowing tributes to the prominent Kashmiri liberation leader, Amanullah Khan, on his death anniversary stating that he spent his entire life for the Kashmir cause and his contribution towards the movement was extraordinary. Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in his tweet in Srinagar expressed resentment over the decision of Bar Council of India (BCI) to give a clean chit to the lawyers who blocked the filing of challan in Kathua rape and murder case.
