Srinagar, June 06, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Muzahamat has strongly condemned the continued house arrest and detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists including Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Bilal Siddiqi, Muhammad Ashraf Laya and Muhammad Rafiq Shah terming it as the worst example of political vengeance.
The spokesman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India had converted occupied Kashmir into a police state. He said, if New Delhi and its stooges in the territory think that by arresting and detaining pro-freedom leadership they can stop connection between them and the masses then they are mistaken.
The spokesman said that such brutal measures could not deter the pro-freedom leaders from holding the flag of freedom high nor could they be stopped from representing people’s genuine aspirations through such tactics.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in a statement expressed concern over continued detention of party leader Muhammad Rafiq Owaisi. It termed the hurdles created by the Indian police to his release as political vendetta. Owaisi was arrested by the police in Ganderbal 15 days ago, and was sent to Kot Bhalwal jail after being booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act. However, the PSA was later revoked and instead of release he was sent to Ganderbal police station. He was then shifted to Srinagar Central Jail.
