Srinagar, July 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC), today, organised a prayer meeting on the second martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani and 126 martyrs of 2016 uprising at Handwara. Shabbir Ahmed Dar in his address said that Burhan’s martyrdom gave a new direction to the freedom movement. He advised party workers to further the cause of his mission which despite his young age showed his mature and innovative thinking.

He was not only a brave commander but a great motivator and genius. His capacity and capability to lead without an iota of doubt took the resistance movement to new heights. His influence was such that even detractors turned defenders. The historical send off to this great son of soil perhaps has no parallel in the freedom histories of the world.

He said the 126 civilians who also achieved martyrdom during the 2016 uprising exhibited the love and devotion of the people towards Shaheed Burhan and other freedom fighters. India used its military might with full force to intimidate people and create fear among the rank of the freedom-lovers but they failed miserably, he added. He said the party sympathisers and well-wishers will leave no stone unturned to carry forward the mission freedom of our martyrs to its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leaders Javaid Ahmad Mir and Hilal Ahmad War in their statement strongly condemned the innocent killings in Redwani area of Kulgam district, yesterday. Pellet Victims Association in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the indiscriminate fire of pellets and bullets by Indian forces on peaceful protesters.
