Lahore, August 14, 2018 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Dr. Hasan Askari hosted the national flag at historic Alamgiri Gate of Lahore Fort on the occasion of 71st Independence Day of Pakistan here on Tuesday. On the occasion, national anthem was sung and special prayers were offered for the country. Dr. Askari also visited the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He laid the floral wreath and prayed for salvation and solidarity of the country. He also wrote his comments in the visitor’s book kept at the Mazar-e-Iqbal. He penned down his comments as under; “I congratulate the nation on this Independence Day and express my good wishes.
The poetry of Allama Iqbal influenced the Muslims of subcontinent and it resulted in the creation of Pakistan.” In his address, the chief minister paid tributes to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and other heroes of Pakistan movement. He sung national songs along with the students, scouts and differently abled children. The chief minister was also presented salute by a smartly turned-out contingent of scouts at Hazoori Bagh.
