Srinagar, August 31, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, unidentified gunmen have abducted seven relatives of policemen in south Kashmir. The gunmen abducted seven persons connected directly or indirectly with the local police force including Zubair Ahmed, son of a policeman from Arwani area of Kulgam district; Arif Ahmed, brother of a middle-rung police officer from Arwani; Faizan Ahmed, son of a policeman from Kharpora in Kulgam; Sumar Ahmed Rathar, son of a policeman from Yaripora in Kulgam; Gowhar Ahmed Malik, brother of a Deputy Superintendent of Police Aijaz Ahmed Malik from Katapora in Kulgam; Asif Rafique Rathar, a student of University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir, and son of a policeman Rafique Ahmed Rathar from Pinglish in Tral.
The gunmen also abducted Shabir Ahmed Zargar, the brother of a constable Zahoor Ahmed Zargar from Kangan village in Pulwama, Muhammad Shafi Mir, brother of a policeman Nazir Ahmed Mir in Kakapora are of Pulwama and Bashir Ahmed Butt son of Yasir Ahmed Bhat at Watho in Shopian.
Following these abductions, the occupation authorities have sounded a high alert across south Kashmir. The authorities have also decided to launch a massive operation in south Kashmir areas to check the abduction of the relatives of police personnel. Reports said that a high-level meeting was held by top brass of Indian forces on Thursday evening where it was decided that a massive manhunt would be started on Friday to trace the abducted persons.
Meanwhile, the family members and students of University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir, have appealed to the abductors to release the abducted persons including the student, Asif Rafiq Rathar.
