Karachi, November 14, 2018 (PPI-OT): A 20 member Chinese delegation representing Nanchuan District, China met Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani at his office. The delegation is visiting Karachi and Hyderabad, Sindh, to discuss the authorities and government representatives for specific cooperation projects (municipal projects: garbage disposal and urban management, urban water supply and drinking water) and both the sides to establish a long-term exchange platform for consultation.
The delegates said that they are looking into various sectors in vibrant city of Karachi Former President of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Muhammad Shahid and other office bearers and members of the chamber were also present. Talking to the delegation Commissioner Karachi Shallwani said Pakistan and China has long and strong relationship. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project would turn ties between Pakistan China into long term strategic economic partnership.
The Commissioner said that there are vast opportunities of investment in Karachi it has a conducive atmosphere for the promotion of investment. He said that all possible facilities and incentives would be given to the Chinese investors in connection with investment. He invited the attention towards the needs for the projects of desalination of water, electricity from municipal wastes and Mass transport.
The delegation expressed keen interest in investment in industrial sector in Karachi and Hyderabad and showed willingness in setting up industries and businesses and to explore investment opportunities in both cities. They also showed their interest to find opportunities in the fields including urban management and municipal functions to the potential Investors. Commissioner hoped that such initiatives on the part of Chinese investors would strengthen business and trade relationship between the cities of Karachi and Hyderabad with Nanchuan District, China.
