Srinagar, January 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt, has said that Kashmir dispute is the root cause of tension between two nuclear neighbours, India and Pakistan.
Zafar Akbar Butt addressing public gatherings at Bagh-e-Mehtab, Gulshan Nagar and other areas of Srinagar during his mass contact campaign expressed concern over the increasing tension along the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan and urged the two countries to demonstrate maturity and settle the Kashmir dispute peacefully.
Zafar Butt also strongly condemned the killing of a Sikh youth by unidentified gunmen in Tral and expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family. He said that such incidents were dangerous and those involved in the heinous crime must be punished.
Meanwhile, the patron of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement, Farida Bahenji, in her statement in Srinagar denounced the fresh arrest spree in the territory and described it frustration of the occupation authorities. She said that such cheap tactics could not prevent the people especially the youth from carrying forward the ongoing struggle for securing the right to self-determination.
On the other hand, the Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, in a statement in Srinagar paid rich tributes to Muhammad Ayoub khan of Devar Lolab area of Kupwara who died in a tragic road accident. He said that on January 8, an unknown biker hit him near Chanpora, Srinagar, in which he sustained grave injuries and later died. He said that Ayoub Khan was a great solider of ongoing freedom movement whose contribution would always be remembered.
