Srinagar, February 01, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations have remembered Wamiq Farooq on his martyrdom anniversary. Wamiq Farooq, a class 7th student, was killed when a teargas shell fired by the Indian police hit him at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar on January 30, 2010.
Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The sacrifices of these martyrs are a part of our collective memory that can’t be erased at any cost. It is due to these sacrifices that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute has become inevitable to maintain permanent peace in the whole South Asia.”
Spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) in a statement in Srinagar, paying tributes to Shaheed Wamiq Farooq, said that the sacrifices of martyrs would not be allowed to go waste. He said the ongoing liberation movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs.
