Lahore, April 30, 2019 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Environment Protection Muhammad Rizwan, in his message on the International Workers’ Day, said that the dream of attaining national progress could not materialize into reality without ensuring prosperity of the workforce. Workforce is an extremely important pillar of society and plays a key role in strengthening of national economy. “Islam has declared labourer as a friend of Allah and as such acknowledged his dignity. Our religion Islam has also admitted greatness of workers and has ordered their wages should be paid before their sweat goes dry”, he added.
The provincial minister said that the present government is paying full attention to the welfare and uplift of workers’ community and committed to protect the rights of labourers in accordance with the Islamic teachings and international laws. Rizwan reiterated to protect the rights of labourers, saying the government believed that only a healthy, happy, well-paid and dignified workforce could enable Pakistan to attain its full social and economic potential. He said that International Labour Day is observed in the memory of those who laid down their lives for their rights. He said on this day, there is a need to renew the pledge that all out support will be extended for the welfare of labourers and protection of their rights.
