Rabat An education delegation from the University of Pattani, in the Kingdom of Thailand, visited the headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) on Tuesday.
ISESCO Deputy Director General Dr. Amina Al-Hajri received the Thai delegation headed by President of Pattani University Dr. Ismail Lutfi Japakiya, who gave a brief overview of the University, its academic specialties, and its educational and scientific services for Muslims in Thailand and the countries of Beyond the Mekong River.
He also highlighted the University’s contribution to spreading moderate thought among Muslims in Thailand and promoting peace and coexistence among followers of different religions and sects.
The delegation held separate meetings with officials of the General Secretariat of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) and ISESCO’s Directorate of Education, during which they discussed means of enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
It is noteworthy that the University of Pattani is a member of the FUIW, and Thailand is an observer state of the Morocco-based ISESCO.
