Illegal gateway exchanges raided in Islamabad

Islamabad, July 12, 2019 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts in curbing the menace of illegal Gray Trafficking carried out a successful raid on illegal VoIP setup at Arsalan Plaza Pakistan Town, Islamabad on 11th July 2019 along with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB).

According to the details, the raiding team confiscated ten (10) operational illegal gateways and approximately 130 active SIMs along with other allied equipments including routers, modems and laptops etc. No arrest was made as the system was installed in vacant flat. FIA seized all the equipments and further interrogation is underway.

The successful raid against the Gray Operators was made possible because of continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by PTA in curbing the menace off Grey Traffic thus curbing the loss to national exchequer due to these illegal grey traffickers.
