Islamabad, November 26, 2019 (PPI-OT): A three-day Capacity Enhancement of District Judiciary on Child Justice Training began at the Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad, on Monday. In the inaugural session of this course the importance of dispensation of justice for children was highlighted. Mrs. Valerie Khan of GDP (Group Development-Pakistan) shed light on the context and objective of this first ever training being conducted at the Federal Judicial Academy.
The speakers from GDP will enlighten the participants on topics such as, “Guiding Principles of Child Justice,” “ Who is a Child”, “International Legal Framework on Child Justice”, “Domestic Legal Framework on Child Justice”, “Child Sensitive Communication”, “SOPs for Child Abuse Cases” “SOPs for Children in Conflict with Law”, etc. during this three days training.
The course for this first batch of district judiciary is being organized by the Federal Judiciary Academy in collaboration with the Group Development Pakistan (GDP) -a Pakistani non-profit organization- which follows a holistic, child focused and human rights-based approach. 25 Judges from District Judiciary of Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan attend this capacity enhancement training.
