Ankara, (UNA-OIC) – The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in partnership with the Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will organize a training course on “Digital Diplomacy for OIC Junior Diplomats” on 14-17 September 2020. The training will be held through a video conferencing platform.
The primary focus of the training is to provide knowledge on the relationship between digital diplomacy and foreign policy objectives, as well as to identify the process of developing and monitoring effective digital diplomacy strategies. The training course will be delivered by renowned experts and will provide junior diplomats from OIC Member States with the opportunity to enhance their understanding and knowledge of the practical implications of digital diplomacy on their policy fields.
The 2020 Training Course on Digital Diplomacy for the OIC Junior Diplomats is organized within the framework of SESRIC’s Diplomacy Capacity Building Program (Diplomacy – CaB), which was initiated in 2017 with the aim to enhance junior diplomats’ diplomatic skills, help them acquire the necessary knowledge about the OIC and assist their understanding of the major regional and international issues.
Since 2017, SESRIC has organized three training programs with the scope of its Diplomacy-CaB (2017, 2018, and 2019) and hosted relevant representatives from the OIC General Secretariat, OIC institutions, international organizations, renowned experts, practitioners, and academicians who have contributed to the program by delivering training on various issues of relevance to the OIC diplomatic community.
