Gilani condemns harassment of Palhallan inhabitants

Srinagar, June 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has condemned the harassment of inhabitants of Palhallan in Pattan area of Baramulla by Indian troops and police personnel. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said the people of Palhallan were being subjected to political vengeance. He said that the whole area was under the control of Indian Army camp at Hyderbaig.

He said that Palhallan had been converted into a virtual jail where fundamental rights of the people had been snatched. He said, the sleuths of Indian secret agencies including Intelligence Bureau Crime Investigation Branch, Criminal Investigation Department and Special Branch round the clock monitor the activities of locals.

The personnel deployed in Hyderbaigh Army camp have obtained mobile numbers of all the youth and summon them frequently to the camp and subjected them to harassment and torture, he added.
