Government appoints Dr Miftah Ismail as Chairman Board of Investment

Karachi, January 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): The federal government has appointed prominent industrialist Dr Miftah Ismail has been appointed as Chairman Board of Investment (BOI). Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif while considering his impressive performance as Vice Chairman, Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) has given approval to his appointment to head BOI.

Miftah Ismail holds a PhD in Public Finance and Political Economy from Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. A professional economist, he worked at IMF before coming back to Pakistan. He is member board of director PIA, SSGC.

He is also a director of Ismail Industries, Pakistan’s largest confectionary group comprising Candyland, Bisconni, Snack city and Delmare Foods. Miftah is also president of Karachi American School and member of advisory board of Institute of Business Administration (IBA).

Vice President FPCCI and President Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ismail Suttar has congratulated Dr Miftah on his new assignment and hoped that he would bring investments to the country.
