Govt’s initiative of establishing National Youth Council hailed

People belonging to different segments of the society have hailed the government’s initiative of establishing the first ever National Youth Council of Pakistan.

Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women Pakistan and member of Youth Council Muniba Mazari said it will be her effort to work towards education and economic empowerment of the youth.

The government had notified the first ever National Youth Council the other day with the aim to empower the youth in decision making process.

The thirtythree member council includes outstanding young leaders in various fields including sports, education, religion, economics and culture.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is the patron in chief of this august council while Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar is its chairman. Youth Ministers of all the four provinces, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also included in the council.

The National Youth Council is an advisory body that would recommend policy interventions for the socio economic development of youth in different walks of life.
