Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi urges researchers to focus on innovations inventions

Islamabad, October 14, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chairman IPO-Pakistan Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi has urged researchers to focus on innovations inventions and also get patent to their inventions. He stated while visiting REAP Energy Expo at Convention Center Islamabad. Mr. Afridi said that students are the assets of Pakistan and their interest in research and innovations is very encouraging. He said that in all over the world special emphasis was being laid in innovations and their utility models are being developed according to market demands.

He said God has blessed Pakistan with talented youngsters who had proved their capabilities in all the spheres of life and in order to educate the young researchers about Intellectual Property Rights, awareness program had been started by IPO-Pakistan with the support of academia and research organizations.

Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi also lauded the contributions of Renewable Energy Association of Pakistan for promotion of alternate energy technologies in the country and encourages the foreign companies to invest in this sector. He said Pakistan has great potential of alternate energy and people were being converting to new energy efficient technologies.

Chairman IPO Pakistan said that government has waved off import duty on alternative energy equipments and it is a golden opportunity for researchers and investors to come forward and market alternate energy based equipments. He said we have adequate heat which can be converted to obtained solar energy for domestic as well as commercial purposes.

The Office bearers of Renewable Energy Association on this occasion briefed about new methods and technologies of alternative energy and informed that a number of new foreign investors intend to invest in Pakistan for renewable energy projects.
