Islamabad, September 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): Mr. Richard Montgomery, the new head of Department of International Development (DFID) Pakistan called on the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar at his office this evening.
Mr. Richard Montgomery congratulated the Finance Minister on Pakistan’s successful conclusion of a programme with IMF and assured the full support of DFID.
They also discussed the Income Support Programme and assured of DFID full cooperation and support for the programme.
Welcoming the new Country Head of DFID, the Finance Minister expressed the confidence that the relations between Pakistan and DFID would be further strengthened.
Mr. Richard Montgomery assured the Finance Minister that he would work closely with Finance Minister and his team to take the relationship further.
Mr. Richard has served in India, Bengladesh and Nigeria before assuming his present position in Pakistan.
Mr. Muazzam Malik, Director for Western Asia – DFID and senior officials of Ministry of Finance also attended the meeting.
