Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan calls Report from Provincial Police Officer Punjab on 22th July 2011

Islamabad: The Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took notice on a press clipping published in “Daily Pakistan” dated 12.07.2011 carrying an appeal of Said Bibi wife of Muhammad Iqbal resident of Sahowali, District Sialkot, wherein it was requested that her son Mobashir has been tortured to death by some influential persons, she has got FIR registered against them but no one has been arrested.

Further, it was narrated in the appeal that on 08.07.2011 at night, her son Mobashir and another person Rizwan were kidnapped by influential persons. They severely tortured them and left them unconscious, outside the home. Both the injured persons were shifted to hospital but her son Mobashir could not sustain the injuries and died while Rizwan is seriously injured and is under treatment at PIMS hospital, Islamabad. She got FIR registered with police station Sadder Sialkot, against the accused persons but no one has yet been arrested and they are still at large and are threatening her and her family of dire consequences. Further, they are continuously pressurizing them to withdraw the complaint/FIR. Therefore, she appealed the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan for justice.

Taking the notice, the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has been pleased to pass the order that the report be called from PPO, Punjab on 22.07.2011.
