Hurriyet leaders urge IOK people to boycott farcical polls

Srinagar, April 06, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders have urged the Kashmiri people to totally boycott the forthcoming sham polls to convey to the world that they want freedom from Indian subjugation.

APHC leaders including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Muhammad Iqbal Mir addressing public gatherings in different areas of Pulwama and Shopian, today, said that Kashmiri people rejected holding of farcical elections in the territory under the Indian constitution.

They said that Kashmir was an internationally-recognised disputed territory and holding of elections there was a futile exercise as they did not provide any solution to the dispute. Their addresses were punctuated by forceful anti-India and pro-liberation slogans. They also distributed pamphlets highlighting the importance of the election boycott.

Earlier, Indian police arrested Hurriyet leaders, Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Mushtaq-ul-Islam, in Littar area of Pulwama to prevent them from addressing these gatherings.
