IHK HCBA demands scrutiny of killer cops’ promotions

Srinagar, June 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has demanded the setting up of an independent committee to scrutinize the cases of those Indian police personnel who have earned awards and promotions by killing innocent youth in the territory.

Reacting to the arrest of Sub-Inspector, Shiv Kumar Sharma, in Doda, who had been reportedly luring youth to militancy and then getting them killed to earn rewards, the HCBA in a statement said that it was not only Sharma who had earned awards and promotions by killing youth but there were many others also.

It said, the Bar Association demands that an independent committee be constituted to scrutinize the cases of such persons, whether they belong to police department or any other department of the puppet administration.

The statement said that if the puppet administration failed to take any action, the Bar Association would have no other option but to approach the High Court. “The Bar Association also demands to strip off all the medals given to Sharma,” it added.
