India continuing its hold on IHK by corruption and coercion

Srinagar, May 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that India is continuing its illegal hold on Kashmir through corruption and coercion since 1947.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a media interview in Srinagar said that in the past 66 years, India had used corruption and military might as tools in the occupied territory but failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ deep-rooted freedom sentiment. “We have 100,000 people dead, every civilian has faced humiliation at the hands of Indian forces, but both these weapons have ultimately failed,” he added.

The JKLF Chairman deplored that New Delhi was using the members of its civil society as firefighters in Kashmir. “It has become an unfortunate routine that in crisis time they (civil society members) come to Kashmir, accuse their own government, sell big dreams to the people of Kashmir, but as soon as the crisis is over they pack their bags,” he added.
