India orders collection of details of Kashmiris living in periphery valley, Jammu and Ladakh regions

Srinagar, April 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):Indian government has ordered its paramilitary forces to expedite collection of each and every detail of Kashmiri people living in the periphery of all three parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir- Kashmir valley, Jammu and Ladakh region. The task has been assigned with India’s Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBT) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). As per officials in the Indian security establishment, the BSF and ITBT have been asked to scale up their intelligence gathering network in all three Jammu, Valley and Ladakh regions of the territory.

The officials said the two forces have been advised to add various technology-based support systems, including artificial intelligence (AI) for accuracy in their intelligence-gathering efforts. The directions have been issued keeping in view the tense situation the territory, they added. “…the BSF has been asked to be on the alert both in terms of patrolling and intelligence gathering,” said a senior security official.

The CRPF has been asked to strengthen its intelligence gathering in Kashmir valley and Jammu as it is largely present there. The officials said similarly, the ITBP has been asked to deploy the majority of its upcoming ground intelligence staff in Ladakh’s forward areas. They said both the BSF and ITBP are set to add more “men and machines” for effective intelligence gathering.

The ITBP, apart from adding manpower in intelligence gathering, has recently initiated the process of installing high-resolution HD cameras in Ladakh border areas in a good number, the officials said. The CRPF is planning to hire more than 700 personnel to boost its intelligence wing.
