India’s plan to grant PRC to refugees in IHK opposed

Srinagar, January 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the forum led by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, and other pro-freedom leaders have said that the Indian move aimed at granting Permanent Resident Certificates to non-resident refugees is a conspiracy to undermine the Muslim majority character of Jammu and Kashmir.

The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement said that India had been conspiring to change the demography of Kashmir since 1947. However, he expressed the hope that the Kashmiris would not allow New Delhi to succeed in its designs. The spokesman for the forum led by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, said that a mass mobilisation movement would be launched if India went ahead with the plan.

Puppet Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla had stated that the regime would go for constitutional amendment in the upcoming session of the so-called Kashmir Assembly to grant Permanent Resident Certificates to the refugees, mostly settled in Jammu.

APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt during his mass contact campaign to different areas of Badgam said that the All Parties Hurriyet Conference would carry on its efforts at local and international level for a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute. The authorities arrested senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, from Sangam to prevent him from addressing a meeting in the Islamabad town.

On the other hand, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Kashmir Bar Association, Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and Kashmiri leader, Sajjad Ghani Lone, in their separate statements while paying rich tributes to late Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan was a great scholar and statesman whose compassionate and fatherly figure would always be remembered.
