Inspector General Police Islamabad urges policemen to win confidence of people so that they can point out criminal elements around them

Islamabad, November 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Police have set up `Citizen Police Coordination Center’ to ensure effective coordination with public and protect their rights.

The Centre was formally inaugurated by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Sikandar Hayat at Shalimar police station. AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan, SP (Saddar) Jamil Ahmad Hashmi, ASP (Margalla) Rizwan Ahmad Gondal, SDPO (Saddar) DSP Khalid Nadeem, SHOs of six police stations, members of Citizen Police Coordination committees were also present on the occasion.

IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat said that main objective of this centre would be to bridge the gap between police and public and providing relief to citizens as well as inculcating friendly police ecology.

The IGP urged the policemen to win the confidence of people so that they can point out the criminal elements around them. He further said that police and public cooperation should be enhanced in order to strengthen trust-building measures. IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat said that Minister for Interior Ch. Nisar Ali Khan has stressed to ensure friendly police ecology in the city. He said this center would have priority areas including resolving community problems on immediate basis, inculcating friendly police ecology with polite and decent attitude, providing enhanced security atmosphere, provision of better working environment and end to indecent practices from police stations.

He said police officials are public servants and it would be ensued that they serve to the people with dedication. He said well-reputed citizens have been given representation in this center and all out efforts would be ensured for immediate relief to citizens.

On the occasion, coordinators and members of six citizen police coordination committees of Shalimar police station, Margalla police station, Ramna police station, Golra police station, Tarnol police station and Women police station were also present, who assured full cooperation with police for improving best relations of citizens. The IGP thanked that public cooperation is imperatives for effective policing.
