Karachi, September 07, 2015 (PPI-OT): Sindh Senior Minister for information Nisar Ahmed Khohru said the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) is a well-reputed educational institution, which has adopted the Ghotki Public School, which would be run and maintained by the prestigious academic institution, IBA.
The Senior Minister said this on the occasion of a ceremony for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Sindh Education Department and the IBA at his office Monday. Sindh Secretary Education Fazlullah Pechoho and IBA Sukkur Director Nisar Siddiqui were also present. The MoU thus signed would be for 10 years while placing the School under the administrative aegis of the IBA.
On the occasion, the Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khohru revealed that Sindh government is working on 25 modern English medium schools of which construction of 17 has already commenced and one such school is almost ready in Shaheed Benazirabad, which would shortly be handed to the provincial education authority. These schools are being constructed with the cold steel structure facility.
He said 110 schools are being constructed in different districts of Sindh with the assistance of USAID while construction of 14-rooms schools has also been started in 8 districts of the province. Sindh government has a target of furnishing 10, 000 schools with all required facilities. One thousand schools would get the required facilities this current year.
The Senior Minister said the bio-metric verification of 84, 000 of 150, 000 teachers have been completed while the remaining strength of teachers would soon be verified through this bio metric system, which would eradicate the ghost employees and would also, ensure 100 percent attendance in schools.
He said that of 5, 000 closed schools, 3, 000 have been recovered and made functional for imparting education and the remaining would soon be restored. The Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khohru while responding to a query said whether the election commission’s members tender their resignations or not, the Pakistan People’s Party would contest the elections.
While responding to another by saying that neither the Army gave any statement on arrest of any minister in Sindh Cabinet nor placed any demand for his custody. While commenting on a statement of Senator Abdul Rehman Malik, he said it could be his personal opinion for tendering collective resignations from the Parliament because such decisions are always decided on a high level forum of the party.
He said Dr Zulfiqar Mirza is passing through the repercussions of his own planted seeds and hence it would be of no importance to comment on him any further. The Senior Minister said there is no harm in Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s visit to Dubai.
He said a ceremony to commemorate Defence Day and to pay homage to the martyrs and Ghazis of the war of 65 was held at the Chief Minister House so the fault-finders should stop their search for any unexceptional thing in that ceremony.
