Intellectual Property is the base of nation’s economy

Islamabad, September 14, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Chairman IPO-Pakistan Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi has said that Intellectual Property is the base of nation’s economy. Strong IP System can foster the creativity and innovations. An IP system promotes the culture of research and development which helps to improve the capacity building and self reliance. He stated this while talking with a delegation of business community.

The Chairman said that our homeland is rich with natural resources and multiple opportunities. There are a number of areas in which we can not only expand research activities but also introduce innovations that can bring advancement as well as development of the country.

He also pointed out that investment is considered as key factor to promote economic activities in the country. Pakistan is, unfortunately the most vulnerable country due to terrorism and energy crisis, that is why, local as well as foreign investment is being suffered.

He said that IPO Pakistan provides protection to the Intellectual Property Rights of individuals and organizations through registration of their IP rights. He was of the view that IPO-Pakistan is committed to build good image of Pakistan as investment friendly country by protecting IP rights and for this noble cause every segment of the society especially business community, students, researchers and innovators has to come forward and join the hand with IPO for economic betterment and social development. The Chairman also appraised the delegation about ongoing interactions with business community.
