Int’l community urged to settle Kashmir dispute for peace

Srinagar, January 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that the international community must resolve all pending issues including the Kashmir dispute if it wants to establish real peace in the world.

Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a mammoth public gathering in Ganderbal, today, said that the Kashmir dispute was a reality and no sane person could deny that this issue was continuously threatening the peace and stability of South Asia. He deplored that India had choked all the space for political activities in the occupied territory. He said that use of oppressive measures could not stop the Kashmiris from perusing their liberation struggle and they would achieve their cherished goal at all costs. His address was punctuated by high-pitched anti-India and pro-liberation slogans. The JKLF Chairman also led a procession in the area.

Speakers at a Seerat Conference organized by Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar said that the Kashmiris were raising their voice against the repression in the same manner the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) had raised his voice against the falsehood. They included veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Maulana Noor Ahmed Trali, Maulana Khursheed Ahmed Qanoongo, Maulana Bashir Ahmed Farooqi, Dr Javed Iqbal and Shakeel Qalandar

Addressing a seminar at the APHC headquarters in Srinagar, Hurriyet Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and other speakers including Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Maulana Abbas Ansari and Zafar Akbar Butt paid glowing tributes to the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him).

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Kashmiri people and minorities in India, particularly the Muslims, had suffered immensely during the Congress rule. He dismissed as election stunt the assertion of Indian Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, wherein he asked the governments of all Indian states to set up review or screening committees to assess cases against the youth belonging to minority communities languishing in jails on terror charges without trial.

The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in a statement in Srinagar flayed the puppet authorities over the victimization of the party Chairman, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Srinagar under police custody. He said that Dr Fakhtoo was shifted to the hospital after his health deteriorated at Srinagar Central Jail, but the authorities were trying to shift him back to jail without proper check-up and complete treatment.
