Srinagar, October 19, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Islami after doing relief and rescue in many parts of the flood-affected areas is now planning to rehabilitate the homeless people.

The JI Spokesman, Advocate Zahid Ali in a media interview in Srinagar, said that party leadership had formed a central assessment committee headed by JI deputy head, Nazir Ahmad Raina.

He said, “Now we are devising a policy for the rehabilitation of the people who were rendered homeless. We have constituted a team for the assessment of the completely damaged houses in the Valley. The team has completed the assessment in South Kashmir where the number of collapsed houses is over 5000.”

He said that the team would now carry out assessment in Central and North Kashmir and submit the report to its head.

“After the report is submitted a meeting of executives will be convened where the policy for rehabilitation of the homeless will be devised,” he added.
