Islamabad Traffic Police provided assistance to 4401 road users this year

Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), during the current year, provided help to 4401 distressed road users whose vehicles were broken down on various roads of the city or they had faced any other problems like running out petrol or fuel.

According to spokesman, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) help unit, which has been working round the clock provide assistance in various shifts. Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood has said the ITP officers and jawans are working in the help unit to facilitate road users and provide them help in case of any emergency on roads.

He said the road users, facing any problem, can call at 1915, the help unit’s contact number, so that they could be provided immediate assistance. He maintained that the policing was a service-providing job and every possible effort was being made to maintain close liaison with the people.

ITP help unit repaired 2675 vehicles, changed the tyres of 256 vehicles, pushed 333 vehicles and provided pick and drop service to 78 vehicles. He said 181 vehicles were provided assistance after running out their fuel and 878 vehicles were shifted to workshops.

The SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood said that police is a service oriented organization and every possible help would be made to ensure community policing through assistance to road users by ITP.
