JKML concerned over Aalam’s deteriorating health in jail

Srinagar, May 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of its illegally detained Vice Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt. The JKML General Secretary, Abdul Ahad Para in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Masarrat Aalam Butt was presented in the court of Sub Registrar, Baramulla, but due to non-presence of judge, May 29 was fixed for next hearing.

He said that Masarrat Aalam Butt was suffering from several diseases due to unhygienic food and lack of medical facilities at Baramulla district jail. He said that the authorities were subjecting the Hurriyet leaders and activists to political vengeance.

Abdul Ahad Para urged the international human rights organisations to put pressure on New Delhi to release all illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyet leaders and activists.
