JKPL denounces house detention of Mukhtar Waza

Srinagar, February 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, has denounced the house arrest of the party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, by the Indian police to prevent him from visiting Sopore to participate in a function held in connection with the 39th martyrdom anniversary of Ghulam Mohammad Bullah.

The JKPL organised the function to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Ghulam Mohammad Bulla at Sopore Graveyard. Besides party leaders and activists, the Hurriyet leaders were also present on this occasion.

The leaders who paid glowing tributes to Ghulam Mohammad Bulla were Javaid Ahmad Mir, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Khan Mohammad Sopori, Ghulam Qadir Rah, Shakeelur Rehman, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Jaffer Kashmiri, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Moulvi Javaid Ahmad, Shawkat Ahmad, Nisar Ahmad and Moulvi Reyaz.

Hakeem Abdur Rasheed said that Ghulam Mohammad Bulla was a brave son of brave mother who sacrificed his life for the Kashmir cause. Ghulam Qadir Rah said, Ghulam Muhammad Bulla sacrificed his life on February 15, 1975, for leading a protest rally against Indra-Abdullah Accord in Sopore. He was arrested by the Indian police and killed in custody.
