Joint call for supporting Kashmir, Palestine causes

Srinagar, June 27, 2016 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have emphasized that the Palestinian and Kashmir causes would be forcefully projected on the forthcoming Jumatul Wida in all major congregations all across the territory.

The leaders in their joint statement issued in Srinagar, today, appealed to the people of occupied Kashmir to pass resolutions on the day in favour of the right to self-determination of the peoples of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir. They warned the authorities that separate colonies for Pandits and Indian soldiers would not be allowed. They also called for imposition of ban on liquor and said that Jammu and Kashmir was a Muslim dominated territory, and the stance adopted by PDP-BJP regime over the issue was against religious sentiments of the Muslims.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced police action on an Iftaar party in Shopian and termed it as an intervention in religious matters. The statement said that the police had no justification to arrest youth from the Iftaar party organized by Tehreek-e-Hurriyet. The Chairman of International Forum for Justice, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo during his visit to injured people at Soura Medical Institute in Srinagar urged to the world human rights organization to come forward and help the victims of teargas shelling, pepper gas and pellet guns. Several people were injured when Indian army and police used these lethal weapons on peaceful protesters in Kupwara, recently.
