Judicial delegations of Turkey, Nigeria, Libya, USA and India call on Chief Justice of Pakistan

Islamabad, April 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): Foreign judicial delegations from Turkey, Nigeria, Libya, USA and India participating in International Judicial Conference 2014 called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani in his Chambers during the first day of International Judicial Conference in Supreme Court, Islamabad today i.e. 18.04.2014.

The delegation of Turkey was headed by Mr. Justice Dr. Alparslan Altan, Vice President, Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey and comprised on Mr. Justice Serdar Ozguldur, President, Court of Jurisdictional Disputes Ankara , Turkey , Ms. Birgul Yigit, Rapporteur Judge, Court of Jurisdictional Disputes of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Ufuk Yesil, Secretary General, Court of Jurisdictional Disputes of the Republic of Turkey, delegation of Nigeria comprised on Mr. Justice Kashim Zannah, Chief Judge, Maiduguri, Borneo State, Nigeria, delegation of Libya comprised on Mr. Justice Jebril E.S Bin Saleh, Judge, Supreme Court of Libya, Mr. Justice Farag A.M Ben Aesha, Judge, Supreme Court of Libya and Mr. Abdul Basit Moftah El-Ashaal, Public Prosecutor, Public Prosecution of Libya, delegation of USA comprised on Hon’ble Mr. John Clifford Wallace, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals Washington D.C, USA and Mr. Jeffrey A. Apperson, Vice President, National Centre for State Courts, delegation of India comprised on Mr. Rakesh Munjal, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and comprised on Mr. Amarjit Singh Chandhiok, Senior Advocate, India.

Welcoming the foreign delegates, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan thanked them for attending the International Judicial Conference 2014. His lordship informed the delegates that the conference is a recurring annual judicial event of Pakistani judiciary that provides a common platform to International and National luminaries of law, members of Bars and jurists to assemble and share their vision, experiences and the best practices to evolve common strategies to improve the system of Administration of Justice and to make it more responsive to address the emerging challenges. They also discussed the issues of mutual judicial interest.

The delegates reciprocated the same sentiments and congratulated the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan for holding and hosting such an International event to enhance cooperation amongst the judiciaries of different countries to take advantage of each others’ wisdom and experiences. At the end of each meeting the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan presented shields and souvenirs to delegates as gesture of goodwill.
