Karachi, October 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s President Muhammad Haroon Agar welcomed the proposals of Pakistan Yarn Merchants’ Association (PYMA) to incorporate with Chamber’s forthcoming Budget proposals.
A delegation of Pakistan Yarn Merchants’ Association (PYMA) headed by its Central Chairman, Pervez Khalid Sheikh visited Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to meet Chamber’s President, Muhammad Haroon Agar to discuss the matters of mutual interest and apprise about the problems being confronted to their members and sought cooperation accordingly.
The Chairman on behalf of PYMA recorded their confidence in Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and recognized its vital role as leading stakeholder of business and industrial community to promote industrial and commercial activities and strengthening the national economy. He informed about activities of Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association.
He stated that in view of Karachi Chamber’s influential role and say in the Government circles he believes in closer liaison of PYMA with KCCI so that their genuine issues may be properly heard by the concerned quarters for needful solutions.
He sought the cooperation of Karachi Chamber on common issues. He also invited President and his team in PYMA’s annual reception meeting. Chairman PYMA Pervez Khalid Sheikh and immediate past Chairman Mohammad Usman expressed their confidence towards KCCI for solution to their genuine problems. They also requested to President KCCI to raise their common issues at all Government forums.
Muhammad Haroon Agar President-KCCI earlier welcomed delegation of Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association and assured that Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry will as usual extend best cooperation and support. He stated that PYMA is one of the oldest Association of Pakistan and an important stakeholder in textiles sector.
He appreciated that PYMA members also maintain membership of KCCI and several former Office Bearers and Managing Committee members of KCCI also undertook same responsibilities in PYMA. He said that yarn sector plays a strong role in textile industry of Pakistan.
He assured the Chairman and Executive Members of PYMA that he will welcome their suggestions for forthcoming budget proposals for onwards submission to concerned ministry. He also apprised the delegation about the role of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the socio-economic development of Pakistan. He also advised the Chairman PYMA to maintain contacts with Chairmen of relevant sub-committee of KCCI for solution to their problems.
Shamim Firpo Senior Vice President KCCI, Nasir Mehmood Vice President and Managing Committee Members of KCCI and from PYMA Ex-Chairman Muhammad Usman, Rafiq Bilwani, Hafeez Aziz, Saquib Naseem and Junaid Teli along with others also participated in the meeting.
