Srinagar, June 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leaders of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and Shabbir Ahmed Shah, have said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute is imperative for ensuring permanent peace in South Asia.
Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi addressing a meeting of his party, Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharie Shian, in Badgam appealed to the international community to play an effective role in resolving the lingering dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah visited Hanjan area of Pulwama and expressed solidarity with the family of a youth, Altaf Ahmed Baba, who was recently martyred by Indian troops.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, he said that unparalleled sacrifices of martyrs had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level and the Kashmiri people would continue the mission of their martyrs till complete success. His address was punctuated by high-pitched anti-India and pro-liberation slogans.
Meanwhile, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders and activists including Mir Hafeezullah, Muzaffar Ahmed Dar, Nisar Ahmed Butt, Sabzar Ahmed Paal and Gulzar Ahmed. He appealed to the world human rights organizations to take cognizance of the plight of Kashmiri detainees and use their influence for their release.
APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja, in her statement in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to teenager, Tufail Mattoo, on the eve of his martyrdom anniversary. Tufail Mattoo was martyred by Indian troops on June 11, 2010, in Srinagar when he was returning home from tuition.
His killing had led to forceful anti-India demonstrations and the subsequent use of force by Indian forces on peaceful protesters had resulted in the killing of over 120 innocent civilians in a period of just few months.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement in Srinagar condemned the arrest of its District President Kulgam, Abdul Satar, by Indian police.
