Kashmir settlement vital to regional peace: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, January 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the settlement of lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations is imperative for durable peace of the South Asian region.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering at the urs of Hazrat Khawaja Bahauddin Ahmad Naqshban in Srinagar said that the Confidence Building Measures between Pakistan and India were meaningless without the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

He said that the Hurriyet Conference had always supported the meaningful and result-oriented dialogue but India was not serious and only wanted to deceive the international community. He appealed to the world community to put pressure on India to stop continued human rights violations in the occupied territory and help settle the dispute over Kashmir.
