KTK demands shift of mortal remains of Butt, Guru to IOK

Srinagar, February 08, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen (KTK), Zamuruda Habib, while paying glowing tributes to Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, on the eve of their anniversaries, has demanded return of their mortal remains from the New Delhi’s Tihar jail to their relatives for decent burial. Zamuruda Habib in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the entire world knew that justice was not provided to Afzal Guru and he was only hanged to satisfy the collective conscious of Indian people. She said that the relatives of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru should be allowed to offer fateha on their graves in Tihar jail.

Reiterating the demand for transfer of Kashmiri detainees from Indian jails to prisons of the territory, she said that the people of Kashmir did not expected justice from the Indian judiciary. She denounced the continued crackdowns on Kashmiris especially youth and added that such cheap tactics could not weaken their freedom sentiment. She urged India to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
