LCCI welcomes opening of EXIM Bank

Lahore, January 24, 2017 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the establishment of Export/Import Bank of Pakistan (EXIM Bank) with its head office in Lahore and hoped that this initiative would enhance Pakistan’s foreign trade in general and exports.

In a statement issued here, the LCCI President Abdul Basit and Vice President Muhammad Hameed Khan said that Federal Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan and Governor State Bank of Pakistan Ashraf Mahmood Wathra deserve appreciation for taking this valuable initiative, which was a dire need of the hour.

“We firmly believe that it would assist the business community to manage, protect and finance their receivable which would certainly flourish our international trade”, the LCCI office-bearers added.

They said that Export/Import Bank of Pakistan will promote expansion and diversification of export base of country by providing short term export credit and long term financing facilities for export oriented projects. They said it is a matter of contentment that said bank would also provide export credit guarantees, export credit insurance and other supporting facilities.

The LCCI office-bearers hoped that business community in the country will utilize services at EXIM Bank and would play its due role in inclusive growth and export-led development of the country.
