Srinagar, July 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet Conference Jammu Kashmir strongly condemning the authorities for launching crackdown on its leaders, has said that India and puppet regime do not feel ashamed of detaining and putting under house arrest political opponents on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

An HCJK spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “HCJK leaders, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shabbir Ahmad Dar and Muhammad Yasin Ataai have been lodged in police station Ram Munshi Bagh and have not been released even after three days, which is sheer autocracy.”

Severely criticizing authorities for keeping another HCJK leader Mushtaqul Islam under continued detention in sub-jail Baramulla, the spokesperson said the authorities had indicted him in false cases.

He also condemned the continued house arrest of the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai. The spokesman said that by such tactics the authorities would not be able to break the resolve of Hurriyet leaders.

Meanwhile, Chief patron JKLF-R Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo condemning the arrest of Farooq Ahmad Dar and other HCJK leaders said, “Some days ago these leaders were holding a peaceful demonstration outside the UN office at Sonawar and the fascist administration called up the large contingent of Police and bundled these leaders and from that day they remain behind bars as their detention has been prolonged.”
