Leather delegation returns from India

Karachi, February 09, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Leather Delegation led by Mr. Gulzar Firoz, Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association including Mr. Muhammad Musaddiq , Mr. S. Anjum Zafar, Ch. Zulfiqar Hayat, Mr. Sadat Ali Khan, Mr. Usman H. Malik, Mr. Mohammad Hameed and 2-Representatives of MO Commerce i.e. Mr. Muhammad Ashraf, Ms. Serein Asad returned to Pakistan on Sunday after detailed study to Indian Leather Industry.

The delegation visited Chennai Leather Fair and attended the 19th UITIC – International Technical Footwear Congress and had a detailed meeting with Mr. Muhammad Rafique, Chairman, Council for Leather Exports (CLE), India and other officials regarding proposed Leather Export Promotion Council (LEPC) in Pakistan. Pakistan’s delegation studied the success story of Indian Leather Industry and will submit its report to Ministry of Commerce. Currently the export of Leather and Leather Products of India is US$ 6.5 billion.
