The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Sunday's attack by an armed group against the residents of Sobane-Kou village in Mali's central Mopti region, killing more than 95 people and wounding many others.
OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen extended his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Mali, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
The OIC chief appealed to the Malian authorities to apprehend the perpetrators of such heinous act and bring them to justice. He also called on the Malian parties to embrace dialogue as a means of overcoming recent community tensions in the West African country.
