The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' opening of the socalled "Pilgrim Road" tunnel under the Palestinian neighborhood of Silwan in the Old City of Jerusalem towards AlAqsa Mosque compound.
ISESCO said in a statement released Tuesday that this new settlement project is a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of the United Nations and UNESCO calling for respecting the status quo of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Also in the statement, ISESCO called on the international community to condemn this criminal act and work to curb the continuous Israeli attempts to change the cultural, humanitarian and religious landmarks in Jerusalem. The Organization further affirmed its constant educational, cultural and scientific support to Palestine in general and to Jerusalem in particular.
