Low production cost can retain Pakistan in export market: Chris Goldsworthy

Karachi, September 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): The production efficiency and usage of advanced technology is the only way for survival for the export-oriented industry in such a grim scenario of uncontrollable energy crisis and frequent increase in the prices of raw material and GST, this was stated by Pakistan’s prominent environmentalist, Dr Samiuz Zaman. Speaking at a seminar on “Compressed Air Technology” in the industry organized by Plastic Technology Centre (PTC), Korangi Industrial Area in collaboration with Rastgar and Co the other day. He said that it is necessary to focus on efficiency on compressed air to reduce production cost and compete at the international level.

”To compete in international export market Pakistani manufacturers should consider for latest and more efficient technology that helps in lowering the production cost. He suggested that CompAir are one of the best compressors in energy consumption and efficient in air production.

Speaking on the occasion Compair Expert from UK, Chris Goldsworthy said that it is possible to achieve up to a 30% reduction in compressed air energy costs by judicious selection of compressed air equipment like air compressors, dryers, filters, piping layout and piping materials. He further elaborated that it is important to monitor the compressed system on a regular basis, so as to identify and control those areas of the installation where air losses occur.

Chris Goldsworthy appreciated Rastgar and Co’s AirAudit initiative in identifying inefficiencies in compressed air system and assistance with entire system performance optimization, leak reduction and practical air management processes, as it helps industries in reducing power consumption and reduction in compressed air system load and wear and tear.

This prolongs life of entire compressed air system. Prominent expert, Maqsood Zulfiqar CEO Rastgar gave an outline of the training facilities provided for customers’ engineers and technical staff in Pakistan and abroad. He also informed the audience about the sales, spares and air audit services provided by Rastgar and Co.

He introduced new product “Parker specializes in low pressure and high pressure piping and fitting”. Arshad Faruqui, Director, PTC, appreciated the organizer’s efforts for the excellent presentation for bringing in the sharp focus of important aspect of cost control and compressed air technological advances.
