Karachi, June 27, 2013 (PPI-OT): Managing Director KW and SB Misbahuddin Farid stated that with the help of JICA KW and SB and Marinex Technologies would establish 50 filter plants on community basis based on latest Japanese technology.
Through this technology water would be treated with Marinex chemical that does not only filters water but also kills bacteria and germs. This would be JICA’s first pilot project to establish 50 filter plants in Karachi. He was speaking to the meeting with the delegation of Japanese company Marinex lead by Company Administrator Jaro Matsuda.
With the coordination of JICA a delegation of Japanese company Marinex lead by Company Administrator Jaro Matsuda comprising of Technical Advisor Takayuki Kboyakawa, Director Nippa Tech Riaz Alafaq Abbassi and Megumi Tamura visited KW and SB to discuss the details.
On this occasion Matsuda briefed that Japanese company Marinex uses a chemical found deep in the sea beds to make Marinex and Marinex Ball, which is affectively been used to filter river and stream water. The chemical is available in both solid and liquid forms and is neither dangerous not affects the colour or taste of the water treated with Marinex.
He said that KW and SB contacted JICA to acquire this technology and Marinex has contacted on the directions of JICA. Company would establish filter plants in different areas of the city with the help of JICA. He said that these filter plants would have a positive impact in improving the water quality to benefit the citizens. Whereas KW and SB would complete the filter plants with the JICA grant.
Furthermore, Matsuda stated that technical discussion and details would be approved by JICA and Marinex would present its feasibility report to JICA for approval. These filter plants can be installed anywhere in the city easily and we have already displayed this at KW and SB COD filter plant.
M.D KW and SB stated that KW and SB has been in coordination with JICA on many occasion with in order to carry out different studies. KW and SB reached JICA in order to benefit from this latest Japanese technology since JICA is already aware of KW and SB’s water supply system. Thanking JICA on this proposal he stated that KW and SB experts would evaluate the use of this chemical and in the light of their findings KW and SB would cooperate with Marinex accordingly.
He said that although the 50 filter plants would be installed with the JICA grant KW and SB would observe the operation cost for chemicals and how the new system would benefit. On this occasion Deputy Managing Director KW and SB Mashkoor ul Hasnain briefed the delegation about KW and SB Filtration and Chlorination system.
M.D KW and SB Misbahuddin Farid stated that JICA would approve the final plans after Marinex and KW and SB’s come to an understanding on the plans and MOU would be signed in the best interest of the city and its citizens
