The government has succeeded in eradication of polio from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
According to a spokesman of FATA Health Department Aqeel Ahmad Khan, not a single polio case has been reported in tribal areas this year.
Two polio cases were reported in South Waziristan Agency in July last year.
The spokesman said ninety-seven percent children upto five years of age are being regularly administered anti-polio vaccine to eliminate the disease on permanent basis.
