China has decided to approach World Trade Organization against the tariffs unilaterally imposed by the United States.
In a statement, China's commerce ministry termed the US action completely unacceptable, saying it will force Beijing to take countermeasures.
Earlier, the United States said it would slap ten percent tariffs on an extra two hundred billion dollars' worth of Chinese imports by September.
Analysts have warned that spiralling trade tensions between the two powerhouses can have a damaging impact on global economy and far-reaching consequences across the world.
