Karachi, April 11, 2014 (PPI-OT): A delegation of the Pakistan Chemical and Dyes Merchants Association led by its Chairman, Mr.Shaukat Riaz met with Mr.S.M Muneer, the Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan at Karachi. The most prominent traders from the industry were represented who had detailed discussion with the CE regarding various issues related to the trade of chemical and dyes in Pakistan.
Special concerns that plagued the sector were duty structure of imported items, sales tax implementation, problems in customs clearance and income tax slab difference between various classes of exporters.
A major proposal was also handed over to the CE by the delegation. TDAP was requested to support a Chemical and Dyes exhibition in Lahore planned ahead in the current year. To that end, the CE accepted the proposal on TDAP’s behalf and pledged to support the association through all possible means.
The CE assured the delegation of his personal commitment toward their trade and to business community in general. He welcomed the members of the business community to come forth and discuss their problems/issues in future.
